onemosphere asked: I may have asked you this before, but I'm not sure. Did you see the remake of Straw Dogs? What did you think of it? My friend's father directed it and I got to chat with him about the production and his views on the original. Obviously, I think the remake isn't very well done and the original is a masterpiece, but it was interesting to hear the director's take on it.

Anonymous asked: I know your blog isn't political, but you mentioned you liked the Daily Show. What are your political views? Do you tend to think about them a lot and stay informed? I always consider myself too ignorant to have very strong political convictions on many things, except broad social issues.

What about freddie got fingered?
See, now THAT is only now slowly coming to be seen as the dadaist masterpiece that it is. It’s just so weird to me how time can completely redefine something like that.

The concept of works of art being received poorly but then receiving acclaim once being reevaluated over time has always been really odd and fascinating to me. It makes me wonder what films, albums, books, plays released relatively recently will be considered classics in the future that the majority of people think are lame right now.

Anonymous asked: Do you go on holiday often? I went to the sistine chapel and I was actually wishing I was looking at it on a computer screen, minus the sea of tourists, tedious standing around and neck-craning. That's how I normally feel in most museums. It seems like a mostly outmoded way of looking at art to me.
